11 PRIORITY GROUPS ELIGIBLE TO FIRST COVID-19 VACCINATION IN VIETNAM

The Ministry of Health has issued Decision 1210 / QD-BYT on approving the plan on the receipt, preservation, distribution and use of Covid-19 vaccine during 2021-2022 supported by the COVAX Facility.

11 groups of subjects receiving Covid-19 vaccination arranged according to priority base on the epidemic situation and the context of limited vaccine supply in Vietnam, including the following subjects:

  1. Healthcare workers;
  2. The pandemic prevention and fight task force (members of steering committees, people working in quarantining areas, reporters and others);
  3. Diplomats, customs and immigration officers
  4. Military force;
  5. Police force;
  6. Teachers;
  7. The elderly aged over 65;
  8. Group of essential services: aviation, transportation, tourism, electricity and water supply …;
  9. People with chronic diseases;
  10. People going abroad on a mission, to work, or study;
  11. People in pandemic-hit areas, according to epidemiological indications.

With the amount of 4,886,600 COVID-19 vaccine doses allocated to the following groups of subjects:

  • Quarter I / 2021: Quantity: about 1.2 million doses, equivalent to 600,000 people. Including medical staff and staff participating in anti-epidemic action
  • Quarter II / 2021: Quantity: about 3.6 million doses, equivalent to 1.8 million people. Including customs officers, diplomats, military forces, police forces and teachers.
  • Quarter III, IV / 2021: The remaining vaccines COVAX Facility is expected to support from Quarter III / 2021.

Quantity: about 33 million doses, equivalent to 16 million people, including teachers, people over 65 years old, essential service providers (customs, diplomacy, aviation, transportation, tourism), people have adult chronic diseases.
